Q: Are Men or Women More Concerned About Financial Backlash?

A: Women are the most concerned about the financial repercussions of COVID-19.


According to national online surveys of more than six hundred people (311 women, 324 men), a third of women are "extremely concerned" about the financial impact versus a quarter of men who shared this view.

When it comes to being able to pay the monthly bills, 25% of women feel COVID-19 has impacted their ability to do so. By contrast, just about 12% of men have felt the same effect.

41% of women have experienced a substantial impact on their ability to set aside money for savings, compared to 26% of men.

Where women are impacted the most:

  • Ability to set aside money for general savings

  • Vacation and travel plans

  • Ability to save for retirement

  • Paying monthly bills
